Being a native Floridian, I have watched the city and landscape of our community change over the years. This Interstate 4 project was inspired by my life. My father was an interstate truck driver in Florida; and raising a middle class family the Interstate system was the way in which we traveled to see much of the United States. My memories of these travels include many small towns that we visited along the interstate.
I believe that color adds an artistic element in this documentary work. Although I have lived here my entire life, I am still awed by the blues of a Florida sky, which continues to be a major element in my work. Inspiration from imy peers and conic photographers have provided additional inspriration for my photographs.
